I know there are only about 20 people in the country that are excited about this, but I don't care. While these are both almost no name teams I think it will be a fun series. We've only had one REALLY good game, and that was Game 5 of the ALCS. I'm hoping for 2 or 3 of those in the World Series and I'll call it a good post season. I'll spare ZG and move to another topic.
Winslow.....Any time a "Star" player mouths off I typically am not a fan and would easily dismiss them and say they're spoiled and need to shut up. Maybe it's because I'm a fan of the team but when I look at this situation I think a little differently. I will admit that anytime a pro athlete making gobs of money complains about anything that it doesn't totally sit right with me, and this is no exception. What is an exception is WHO is doing the talking. I think most of us expected K2 to be a loud mouthly annoying, worse than TO, kind of a player in the NFL. While he has been outspoken I don't think he has approached being as bad as many thought he would be. Because of that I'm cutting him some slack here, especailly when he's pointing out the obvious about the clearly poor medical conditions in Cleveland and with the shotty leadership I see on the field each Sunday, I'm not sold on the quality of the leadership throughout the week.
Bucks....I'm going to hold true to what I said here earlier this year. Which is that I KNEW that the defense would be good once they got into conference. The problem with the Bucks is that everytime they play out of conference the last few years (MAC included) they seem to be completely un-prepared and play like crap. Now that they're in the Big Ten their defense will get jacked up and the play calling will be much more accurate as opposed to when they play a team that for some reason we're unprepared for. I don't think our team lacks talent, but for some reason they lack passion and direction against anyone else. Don't get me wrong I will be cheering as loud as anyone on Saturday and hoping that they are back on track, but I'll still be skeptical until I see them do it to someone outside the Big Ten.
As for TP2 - I AM PUMPED for this kid to be playing at THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY for the next few seasons. What I love the most is that while this kid has had just about everything handed to him athletically the last few years that when someone questions him he doesn't cry like Vince Young and say "Why is everyone picking one me?" he says, "OK, try me bitch, I will kick your ass, then ask you to say my name afterwards" ala Muhammed Ali. Clearly he's cocky, but so far it's a cocky that I like. And I will disagree with you on one thing about the kid Scotty, and that's I don't think it would matter if this weeks game was at Penn State. I think the kid loves the adversity and think he would thrive anywhere, which is just another reason I'm excited about the next few seasons.
Ok, I'm off to watch the World Series....let me tell you nothing says World Series like the Backstreet Boys signing the national anthem. NICE!!!!!

Winslow Situation/Browns as a whole/Bucks-Penn St.
Alright People, I know it's been forever since I, or anyone else has posted on this bad boy, so I thought I would try and stimulate some conversation here.
What the hell is the deal with the whole Kellen Winslow situation? I mean he is (usually) the Browns most consistent threat in their offense, and they're treating him like he's garbage. While I don't believe for a second that this whole situation is only about staph, I still think you have to take care if this guy in any way possible. If he wants a new contract, GIVE HIM A NEW CONTRACT! If he comes out and says they need cleaner health facilities, and their track record with staph infections shows this, then clean the facilities better. If he says Phil Savage mistreated him, and didn't call him while he was in the hospital, the Phil should show up at his door on his knees to please this guy if you know what I'm saying. The fact that he spoke out really isn't a big deal, I mean all he asked for was a healthier work environment and obviously felt the media was his best way to voice his opinion.
This also shows a lack of leadership on Romeo Crennel's part as well. Do you think Winslow does this on a Bill Belichick/Bill Parcells Squad? Romeo does nothing but manage the team. He's an awful communicator with his players, and an absolute moron for not benching DA. With the talent the Browns have they should be talking playoffs, not talking about re-building. That falls squarely on the doughy shoulders of RAC.
Now on to the debacle that is DA. HE BLOWS. He is the biggest fluke since Kelly Holcomb. He doesn't lead his receivers at all, thus getting them killed game in and game out, and has no touch on any of his passes. There's a reason he went in the 7th round. Also, at even the thought of pressure, by the defense or otherwise, he folds like a cheap suit. Did you hear what he said after the Redskins game? HE said one of the reasons he didn't have a good game was because he felt the pressure of the defense, even when there wasn't any. ARE YOU F'ING KIDDING ME?! Put him on the bench where he belongs. Also, I know for some odd reason he has RAC convinced that he's THE GUY, but he obviously is not. THE GUY doesn't go 4-17 at any point in the game. And this report in the Minnesota papers that the Browns were offered two first rounders (2009 and 2010) for Brady Quinn at the trade deadline and didn't do it, doesn't make me happy either. If he means so much to the team, why is he NOT STARTING? I mean you have to see what you have in Brady Quinn. He needs to start and needs to start now. He's more mobile than DA, He sees the field better, He has been faced with pressure situations, and been in the spotlight as THE GUY throughout his career. You've got to at least see what you have for the future of the franchise.
As for the Bucks-PSU game, I'm thinking the Bucks win here. How many big games has Daryll Clark been in? He's going to be facing the most hostile environment he's ever seen Saturday Night, and the best defense in the Nation. I mean, the BUCKS D has been stout all year (disregarding the USC game, in fact, let's just pretend that game didn't happen), and Beanie Wells is back. You can not measure the importance of having Beanie Wells in this game. He's going to carry the ball 30 times regardless of how many yards he's getting, and hopefully this will help the Bucks control the clock. Also, this will allow TP2. the most electrifying player in the country, to relax out there. I'm picturing an 15 carry, 75 yard , 1 TD performance from TP, and a 15-20, 160 yds, TD passing day for him as well. He be fine, because the game is at the shoe. if it were at beaver stadium, then we'd be talking differently. I'm telling you big time players step up in big time situations. AND THAT IS WHAT PRYOR IS. BUCKS 31-PSU 17
Also, the Cavs will win the title this year...BELIEVE IT!!!!!
I am making my triumphant return to the BUS this weekend and will finally be able to pay dunigan for the football league. Everyone I see better be ready to throw down............
