Vince Thoughts

I would first like to congratulate Rev Dun for being able to make a Seinfeld reference AND a WarGames reference in the same post. Truely a magnificent feat. With that said I agree with the seintment of your post so I won't add too much more other than to say a few quick things that I've heard today regarding this story.

1) According to an interview/call (from someone in Youngs old neighborhood) I listened to on Jim Rome's radio show today it may not be the criticizim from the fans that is getting to Vince as much as it is his "boys" and people from his old neighborhood starting to rag him for his play and lose some respect for him b/c he's "falling off". It still doesn' t excuse the fact that he's supposed to be a professional and put in his work and not whine like a baby, but just something I thought was interesting.

2) The more and more I see of this story the more I agree with Rev. But I will say that I hold some back on the off chance that Vince may actually have some sort of mental illness. Family and friends were worried the guy may harm himself. That turned out to be unfounded but anytime friends and family start making those assumptions about you means you may not be in the healthiest place mentally. I don't care who you are if something is legitimately not right upstairs, I'm not to going to lay judgement on that person.

3) Last, and this goes back to Vince's "boys" ragging on him and him not being strong enough to take it, or strong enough to handle the riggers of being a professional QB. I think you all should take a look at this article if you haven't seen it already. It was written by Jason Whitlock before Vince was drafted on March 9th, 2006. It speaks to him and to some extent young athletes in general these days. I think it's very insightful and thought provoking. A good read. By the way in light of this story he's writing an article on this topic that should be on FoxSports.com in the next few days.

Aight I'm out for now, couldn't wait to add to this topic....good choice Rev.....
